The act of painting, for me, is the curiosity to explore the space and tension between opposites, and by painting in reverse on a clear acrylic surface I create a transparency in which to explore these dualities.

Movement and stillness, driving forces in all life forms, reveal this duality; of contrasts, conflicts, inspiration and harmony. And so it is that the space in-between sound and silence, thought and action, transparent and opaque, arrival and departure, movement and stillness have captured my imagination and my heart. Rumi, the 13th century Sufi poet, best expressed this sacred space in this phrase, "Out beyond wrong doing and right doing there is a field of luminous consciousness. I'll meet you there."

My objective is to create harmonious spaces that are intuitively balanced in light, color, and motion; that speak to our strength, vulnerability, and awakening within.
